Morserino-32 included LoRa module #98

Why have I been sent a LoRa module of 434MHz by default when I live in the UK, an 868MHz LoRa region? There was no opportunity to select an alternate LoRa module frequency! Left to consider the shipping address would indicate the need for an alternate LoRa specification instead of the default?

... It is illegal(?) to use out of local region LoRa frequencies!

There is no email address associated with the Morserino-32 shop to identify problems with purchasing.

I trust somebody can help me and the Morserino-32 project resolve this difficulty. I am disabled, confined to bed, living in isolation here in the UK that might explain my lack of intelligence? With thanks in advance

As it says on the website, all kits are being shipped with a 433 MHz LoRa module. The fact that 866 MHz in the UK (and in other regions) is an exclusive LoRa band, does not mean LoRa cannot be used on other frequencies. In all of Europe this is also part of the 70cm amateur radio band, so all hams can use it. In addition, in all of Europe this is also in the ISM band, which can be sued without license for small power (as is the case here).

You will only use LoRa if there are other Morserinos ion the vicinity (maybe a 100 m max). If any other Morserino user happens to be in your vicinity, you will be able to talk to him, as he will also have a 433 MHz module. If no-one is near you, you are not going to use LoRa anyway.

It is not, as far as I know, see above.

When you order the Morserino you got an order confirmation, a later a processing notice and a shipping notice by< email. Replying to any of these messages will bring your message to my mailbox.

Willi OE1WKL, with many thanks for your support. Your project is highly regarded here also as I intend to learn with your facility. I am presently very limited in electronics and GitHub experience. But with each intelligent response to my naive opening comments, with more efficiency, I can learn to ask intelligent questions. With respect Sir.
