[FEATURE] MaxMind-DB-Reader extension #839

The legacy GeoIP Database will phase out during 2018. https://support.maxmind.com/geolite-legacy-discontinuation-notice/ In order to read the new format, a new (optional) php extensions is required: https://github.com/maxmind/MaxMind-DB-Reader-php/tree/master/ext Could you please create packages for this extension. I would also help packaging, but I cannot find any information how external php modules can be build for this repo.

GeoIP Legacy database is no longer available for download. The C-extension for reading new databases is still unavailable. Happy New Year.

I understand that this is free open source software, and i dont have any moral right to demand anything, but can someone know how to contact the author of the repository?
