External Graphic Dependencies #11

rrdtool needs external graphic libraries (like cairo or pango).

Sometimes this could be a rather lengthy thirst track...

If the building process of these external libraries in RRDTool could be (better) automated that will be helpful for compiling new rrdtool builds.

Hi,

imho this is nothing that should be done in RRDtool but rather a task of the "distributor" of your operating system.

Dear Sebastian,

I agree with you for bigger / classic "distributions".

My intention was to simplify the dependency building as document for RRDTool 1.x here ( http://oss.oetiker.ch/rrdtool/doc/rrdbuild.en.html)

there is a script for this purpose https://github.com/oetiker/sdbs/blob/master/build_rrdtool-1.4.7.sh
