Retriever refactoring is required to implement automatic downloading #48

To implement automatic downloading so that we can use existing code the 
Retriever class needs to be refactored.

Currently the searching and downloading logic is tied too much to GUI stuff, I 
think same goes for sorting (by tags) which we probably need in automatic 
downloading.
