I talked to the author the other day - and he said he would not continue the efforts here - so if it could live in under gluster it would be great
@amarts Interesting. I would be happy to contribute to, and I agree it would be better to have only one gluster_exporter well-maintained by the gluster community itself. Where should we discuss this further? Do not hesitate contacting me privately.
All discussions can happen at gluster-devel@gluster.org or specifically at https://github.com/gluster/gluster-prometheus

@amarts could you provide a docker image as well - I'd be happy to contribute a helm chart for it @helm.org - so that Kubernetes could be well and easily supported.
Hi @davidkarlsen, For helm, we have started an effort here (https://github.com/gluster/gcs/pull/14 - check with @JohnStrunk)
About docker image, @aravindavk did some work https://github.com/gluster/gluster-prometheus/pull/48
Both are in progress, and happy to collaborate there.
Hi @amarts @mjtrangoni @atinmu , I started this project because of the lack of an exporter for metrics from the glusterd. So if there is any effort to integrate the possibility of exporting metrics directly IMHO it would be more than great.
@ofesseler what's the current status? which exporter should be used?
Since I don't work with glusterfs anymore, it is hard to be on track. everyone who likes to contribute is very welcome!
IMHO a gluster-exporter by the official glusterfs team would be the best solution...
Hi @ofesseler @mjtrangoni, I am writing from Gluster team to understand how to proceed with collaborating together on Prometheus exporter efforts!
We had also started some work on this regard @ https://github.com/gluster/gluster-prometheus sometime back!
Having 2 efforts to get the same output would not be ideal for the users and us as developers in my opinion! Happy to hear your opinions on this.
