gocryptfs: encrypts file contents and file names but doesn't hide directory structure or file sizes. (info: comparison)
CryFS: slower, but encrypts everything and obfuscates file sizes. (info: comparision)
EDS Lite : https://f-droid.org/packages/com.sovworks.edslite/ {Project looks inactive no updates on F-Droid since 2021 but it's the only option for veracypt}. Supports VeraCrypt (foss), TrueCrypt(Freeware), LUKS (foss), EncFs (not maintained, recommends gocryptfs instead) container formats. See difference between full vs lite here.
For example there are KPDX (for passwords/TOTP), Valv (for gallery), Dairy Vault (for dairy) , Aegis (for TOTP), AppManager (encrypted app backups), Neo Backup (again for apps and data) etc. They're all some kind of file encryption tools but the user should use relevant tools for specific intended purposes only.
I think "File Encryption apps" requires it's special category they're intended to be use for all type of files.
I think we need a separate category for file encryption tools
