7 years ago On Ubuntu 16.04 the Stockfish SPSA testing branch triggers a GCC bug when using the make profile-build ... directive used to perform a Profile Guided Optimization build.
This could be solved in several ways:
- installing a newer compiler alongside the default one, check the wiki
- write a
custom_make.txtwithmake build ARCH=x86-64-modern COMP=gcc(select the ARCH fitting your CPU, this hack slower a bit fishtest) - update to a newer Ubuntu with
do-release-upgradeafter settingPrompt=normalinvi /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades - install lxd/lxc and run the worker in a linux container based on a newer Ubuntu
IMO it makes no sense to write a patch in fishtest to deal with a GCC bug.
