Please answer the questions about build version and network, will save
developers a lot of time !

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to any regular web page with text (e.g., lifehacker.com)
2. Highlight some text from an article.
3. Click the Chrome to Phone button.
4. Look at your phone. You will (at least I do) get only a link to the site
and not the text you copied selected.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the android, in Settings -> About phone -> Build number (
ex. FRFxx ) ? If less than FRF50 - see the FAQ.
2.47.502.7 CL93396 release-keys

Is the phone using WiFi or mobile network when problem occurs ? If Wifi,
are you behind a firewall that blocks outgoing connections ?
Using mobile network.

Can you open "Gmail" application ? Do you see new messages without hitting
'refresh' ?
Yes, I get new messages.

Can you open "Talk" application ? Do you see incoming chats ?
Yes, I see incoming chats.

Please provide any additional information below.
The extension is successfully sending things to my phone, but instead of
selected text (when I have something selected), it only sends me the URL. I
have tried it on several different sites.

I'm experiencing the same issue with Chrome 17.0.963.56, in spite of a
reinstall of the extension.

Look at the app in the market, the What's New section tells you that in the Feb
1, 2012 update the developers changed the behavior to send only links even when
text was selected.

I'm with you. It makes the app almost worthless.

Thanks for the heads up. Guess I'll be keeping my eye out for another solution.

Same issue here, reverted to 2.2 just because of this.
A simple fix is to revert the r298 change that has been done.

Though this could have been done to fix a bug.

The dev actually answered it in issue 417
https://code.google.com/p/chrometophone/issues/detail?id=417#c3
And lists reasons for the change.

For anyone that is curious (as I was), *both* the link and the selected text
are sent to the phone. The browser opens, but you can also paste the selected
text.
