I got the same error but worse: Atom freezed and could not do anything at all (just closing the process in Windows 8.1). A full Atom reinstall did not help. I had to manually delete .atom/packages/tab-switcher and all files inside of .atom/storage. This way atom restarted "normally". Then I reinstalled tab-switcher package.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to repro this, so I'm considering it stale. Perhaps an old Atom bug? Please reopen if you're still having trouble. Thanks!
