Ive installed comic-translate three times in the past week (to upgrade python to a 3.10 version that isnt the earliest) and never had issues.

Delete the pip cache folder. (Under windows its in: %LOCALAPPDATA%\pip ) Uninstall all modules installed by pip: Step 4 here: https://www.squash.io/how-to-uninstall-all-pip-packages-in-python/ Uninstall your python version. Install python 3.10.11 (newer 3.10 versions might break.) Install stuff again. Dont update pip or other modules manually.

During the installation skip the virtualization steps (not needed in my instance) mentioned in the tutorial.

If you have an nvidia card, read the part about installing cuda accelerated torch in the tutorial. Follow it.
