fails to install if host has avahi-daemon #2

Runs fine if I apt remove avahi-daemon.

do you require the apt packaged avahi ? the snap should work with the snapped avahi (kodi-pi-standalone was originally designed for Ubuntu Core where pulseaudio, avahi and bluez come as snaps ... i'll need to do some extra work and testing to also support it on classic installations with traditional variants of these packages i guess ;) )

To be honest, it did not occur to me to use the avahi snap, if there is a perfectly fine packaged version :-) For some (unrelated) reason, HDMI CEC did not work for me, so I went back to a 32-bit Raspberry Pi OS with purpose-built kodi.

Ah, that's sad to hear.... i'd be interested to know what CEC issues you had though, CEC works fine for me on the appliance image:
