Working microphone (Ubuntu Settings) is recognized by the snap (audio settings), but zoom does not detect sound #101

Setup: Ubuntu 22.10 with latest zoom-client snap 5.8.6.739.

This has been working normally for months... until now.

The USB microphones work according to Ubuntu>settings>sound and work in other programs. Speaking is shown clearly on sound meter of ubuntu settings.

The Zoom Audio settings tab recognizes my 2 different USB mics and displays them as options. When one is selected, it does not pick up any sound according to the zoom settings sound meter. During meetings, I unmute and talk - no one hears me. Moving across to the Ubuntu>settings>sound window - the microphone is shown to be working normally.

What I've tried:

Suggestion: Perhaps a recent Ubuntu update has broken the passing across of the sound from the system to the snap?
