Setup: Ubuntu 22.10 with latest zoom-client snap 5.8.6.739.
This has been working normally for months... until now.
The USB microphones work according to Ubuntu>settings>sound and work in other programs. Speaking is shown clearly on sound meter of ubuntu settings.
The Zoom Audio settings tab recognizes my 2 different USB mics and displays them as options. When one is selected, it does not pick up any sound according to the zoom settings sound meter. During meetings, I unmute and talk - no one hears me. Moving across to the Ubuntu>settings>sound window - the microphone is shown to be working normally.
What I've tried:
Rolling back to last zoom-client snap - no difference
Uninstalling the snap, then reinstalling - no difference
Checked the snap preferences in Ubuntu software - all seems fine, no change from when it did work.
Testing USB mic on another laptop running 20.04 LTS - microphone works fine
Suggestion: Perhaps a recent Ubuntu update has broken the passing across of the sound from the system to the snap?
I installed the .deb. Mic still did not work, but an extra Zoom setting appeared in the Ubuntu sound settings showing the mic was muted. Extra setting was below the ZOOM VoiceEngine slider.
I unmuted the mic and it worked in both deb and snap. I deleted the deb and the mic in the snap still works. Strangely, the extra zoom setting in ubuntu sounds disappeared.
