Error while loading shared libraries: libfontconfig.so.1 #123

I am using the edge version 5.13.4.711 on Ubuntu 20.04:

zoom-client          5.13.4.711                  197    latest/edge      ogra           -

Refreshing to 5.13.11.1288 fails:

error: cannot perform the following tasks:
- Run configure hook of "zoom-client" snap if present (run hook "configure": /snap/zoom-client/200/usr/bin/fc-cache: error while loading shared libraries: libfontconfig.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)

I have the dependencies installed already (libfontconfig1 in this case).

Hello, I have the same problem : run hook "configure": /snap/zoom-client/201/usr/bin/fc-cache: error while loading shared libraries: libfontconfig.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I am on Ubuntu 22.10

Hi me too, trying to install the --edge channel

sudo snap install zoom-client --edge

Same problem with same versions

The latest version which worked for me on Ubuntu 22.04 was 5.13.4.711 (197) 398MB, all newer versions are failing with:

- Run configure hook of "zoom-client" snap if present (run hook "configure": /snap/zoom-client/202/usr/bin/fc-cache: error while loading shared libraries: libfontconfig.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)

Is there any workaround for this issue?

Zoom started requiring 5.14 to connect to some meetings, is there any chance we can get an update? (Using flatpak works as a workaround...)

the official zoom download center now directs users to Version 5.14.7 (2928), which is currently considered "edge" for this snap. an update would be nice :slightly_smiling_face:
