Login error on Version 5.1.422789.0705 #43

I've tried to login into a room or webinar and have always obtained an error whether I try to join a room( numbered room number or the https:// address of the room)

Afterward, A window appears and continues to attempt login. Afterward another window appears and error code 5003 is mentioned.

I've tried installing it a few time and none of the instances have worked so far. I've installed snap on a debian 10 instance and have had success with other snap applications but zoom does not appear to work. However, I do see a zoom icon on my taskbar when zoom is turned on.

Is there a special packet I must install? Or another work around?
Thanks,

So, I tried to access a room (numbered room #) and the connecting message window appeared, after a few minutes. The following message appeared:

Unable to connect: Make sure you are connected to the internet and Connection to Zoom is not blocked by a firewall or proxy. Error code: 5003.

My firewall is set to accept zoom.us, zoom.com or webex.com. Possibly, it's a latency issue due to a VPN . However, webex connections function on my system.

Please advise.

well, the snap only picks up your host settings and should just work ... if you try to just start your own meeting through the menu, does that work ?

Thanks for following up, I currently don't have that feature. It's either join a meeting or signup, which I haven't done. Why would I need to sign-up to zoom if I receive an invitation to attend a meeting?

Invites include a link or room #, possibly a password.

Login's include room or link field, and user name.

Can you clarify the constraints?

Thanks,

i don't know if there are any constraints set by the people that invited you to their meetings.

all meetings i have ever used zoom in were in context with my username which requires a login first so i can be identified ... i did not know you can use zoom in a way that you are not having any user name at all ...

beyond this, i do not believe this is caused by the snap packaging of the zoom client (note that this is the official client from zoom.us, just re-packed as a snap for added security and automated upgrading)

Sorry for the delay,

Didn't know if you recieved my message,

To answer your question: all meeting invites, include the require the address, or room #, possibly a password (all are provided in the email) The only variables are the user name may be an email or your name.

So, it's not an exclusion/constraint factor. It's missing code or etra code. I just need this application to work as intended.

The error message is still there which is 5003.

you can just use "join" where you type the meeting id and your displayname it is not a username it is just a display name, you do not need to sign up to use it does the deb package work btw? it may very be an issue with your system then with the snap package i have retested the snap package and it just works for me
