When in a meeting, Zoom exits the meeting when attempting to join breakout rooms. It requires 2-3 tries, where you have to re-enter the original meeting room, and then attempt to join the breakout room.

Same for me :(

I also sometimes need several tries to access a zoom meeting at all

I also encounter the same problem, Sometime it take a lot of time to connect to the point I cancel the process and redo it again. As for the breakout room, when I receive the invitation and click to joint, I get kick out of the meeting. I do not know the cause of it. I'm just a user so this is as far I can tell. By the way the version on zoom.us web site doesn't install on my version Ubuntu 20. So I use the web browser application on zoom.us but this one is unstable and freeze after 1 hours of use, the browser freeze.

My wife had the same problem joining a breakout room using ubuntu 18.04.5 yesterday while it worked OK for me also using 18.04.5. My version of Zoom is a later version, 5.4.9 downloaded from the Zoom site. They are up to 5.5 now.

I encounter the same problem on Kubuntu 20.10 from months. I confirm it's not fixed on 5.5.0.

I've had the same problems with Ubuntu 20.04 with 5.7.4. I had just tried switching over to the snap version from the .deb install approach, and it was really painful. I was teaching a class and so I was hopping from one breakout room to another, and every time I exited a breakout room, Zoom crashed. Switching back to the regular .deb install approach solved the problem.
