Numerals #12

Well, here's a first draft of the numerals. I've kept the Burmese style as alternates in case users prefer to use those.

I find the shape of the Phake 2 somewhat alarming, and perhaps the 3 would work better with a blob like the 4?

Let me know your thoughts! :)

Some revisions to the 2 and 3, and the blobs are more consistent in size throughout:

For me these work a bit better.

I think the second set works better, I like most of them a lot. Kensan, I think zero should not have the blob/black dot because it looks exactly the same as wa right now. I haven't seen any manuscripts with a zero that has the blob in it, are there any examples? As for 2, we have the alternative AA79 so I think this is OK but it still a bit unusual.

I found another example of the funny 2 at the beginning of the first line here:

It looks as though there's a bit more of a dot at the top of the stroke, I'll try reinterpreting what we have to emphasise the head a little. It's definitely an odd shape compared to the others.

I agree about the zero, though in Burmese the zero and Wa are also normally the same and it doesn't seem to cause too many problems. So we could either remove the dot or make the dot slightly different:

Here's a 2 with the dot, and without. Let me know which you find best.

Yes, usually there should not be dot in numeral zero but I have found this in manuscripts. But now I think it will create confusion so it would be better to remove it. Here are the pictures:

For numeral 2, its fine without dot.

All the numbers are very beautiful. I would love to use these more than usual Burmese numbers :)

Thanks for this Kensan, it is clear that we need a dot on the ʹzeroʹ, as shown in this writing of nai 10 6 pi (get 16 years) image

Ok default version of the zero is dotted; the Burmese style is included as alternate without dots.
