Web native data analysis with WebAssembly: a BISWeb demo and conversation

By Stephanie Noble, Yale University

Abstract

This demo will introduce users to image processing and visualization in BioImage Suite Web (BISWeb; https://bioimagesuiteweb.github.io/webapp/). BISWeb is a point-and-click app that runs in any modern web browser and most devices without any installation necessary, yet with performance rivaling that of a locally installed software. BISWeb currently supports a range of functionality for image processing, visualization, and data sharing in human and animal fMRI: defacing, segmentation, registration, functional connectivity visualization, live figures, and more. We will highlight a module for quickly and easily visualizing connectomes across multiple levels of resolution, which can then be saved or shared as live figures. We also welcome a conversation about using the WebAssembly architecture to facilitate browser-native data processing.
