  1. Prevalence and control of diabetes (diagnosed and undiagnosed), overall and by different socio-demographic and clinical subgroups (e.g. age, sex, race, education, marital status, smoking, obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, comorbidities, family history of DM)
  2. Medication treatment patterns (e.g. number and type of medications prescribed) among patients with uncontrolled diabetes and compare to patients with controlled diabetes, overall and by different socio-demographic and clinical subgroups
  3. Short-term (at 3 and 6 months) and long-term (at 12 and 24 months) clinical outcomes (e.g. death, AMI, heart failure, stroke) and healthcare utilization (e.g. emergency department visits and hospitalizations for diabetes-related disease) among patients with uncontrolled diabetes and compare to patients with controlled diabetes, overall and by different socio-demographic and clinical subgroups
  4. Predictors of diabetes control and adverse clinical outcomes among patients with diabetes
  5. Comparative effectiveness analysis of antihyperglycemic agents on adverse cardiovascular events (e.g. acute myocardial infarction, hospitalization for heart failure, and stroke)

  1. Outcome according to the condition of control of co-morbidity (HTN, dyslipidemia) in people with diabetes
  2. In Korea, the use of DPP-4i and SGLT2i is increasing significantly. Comparative effectiveness study to see if these drugs are really effective compared to classic drugs (SU, AGI, TZD).
  3. Identify the difference between emergency room visit, hospitalization and intensive care unit visit according to the treatment method of diabetic patients
  4. Risk of Atrial Fibrillation According to Therapeutic Agents in People with Diabetes.

[Hiram] Title: Wide-area PheValuator survey MQ: How can the results of the PheValuator be used? RQ: Seeking the characteristics and usage of PheValuator by looking at the difference/distribution of the results of PheValuator on diabetes among many/wide area data sources Background: BMI does not directly represent anything clinical risk, just a calculation. eGFR does not match true GFR so much. Nevertheless, since these indices can be calculated simply, they are often used clinically after understanding the characteristics of the indices. Likewise, the PheValuator is a useful method that can calculate not only the PPV but also the sensitivity without the need for chart review, but the result is considered to be different from the conventional method. Therefore understanding the characteristics of the PheValuator is quite important. It is a good opportunity to measure regional differences.
