Bluesky social media account #12794

Hey! Bluesky's user base exploded twice recently, mostly with Twitter refugees. I noted that some oh-my-zsh users are staying on Twitter or hopping between Bluesky and Twitter primarily because they want to get update notifications for software they use and don't want to create "yet another" account on services like Mastodon. In this issue, I want to ask you to create your own Bluesky account. You can also use your domain as a @ handle to boost recognition

Bluesky users can follow Fediverse users using https://fed.brid.gy, you can also set a custom domain on the bridging bot.

but account owners have to bridge their Fediverse accounts themselves, it can't be done without login

You bridge your Fediverse account by following @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy (or @ap.brid.gy coming from Bluesky). That's it, that's the whole process. Tens of thousands of people on both sides of the bridge have done this already.

Hi there! We are exploring this, but can't promise anything. Handling multiple accounts (we already have X, Mastodon and Instagram) is a full time job, so we can't promise much. Thanks for the suggestion!

exactly the issue oh-my-zsh users have. interesting... anyway, I understand. perhaps, creating an update poster bot with your blessing would be more viable for contributors. sadly, many of us have other things to do.
