look at AWS CodeDeploy #3

Amazon released AWS CodeDeploy recently it's a free service to organize applications and their deployment. It seems that this thing is more robust than user data scripts, but I'm not sure that it will be worth to switch to it.

yup, nice that you mentioned it. They announced a lot of related similar sounding stuff at re:invent. It's something we definitely need to take a look at.

There's an sbt plugin for this
