Backspace key behaves as if alt key is active even after typing another character #1

Repro steps

  1. Open Google Messages app*
  2. Type a few characters
  3. Press alt key
  4. Press any alphanumeric key
  5. Press the backspakce key
  6. Expected: it would only delete the last character you type
  7. Actual: it deletes the entire row of text

*note this repos in Google Messages app on Android, Facebook Messenger, and Beeper.

Tested it and it does not repo on chromium based browser on Android or Obsidian.

Can confirm... mildly annoying at times...
