Basemap Customization? #2

I need to figure out how/if the basemap can be customized.

Looks like there is documentation about it here from Mapzen: https://mapzen.com/documentation/tangram/Javascript-API/

Not sure how that works though. At the moment, the basemap loads fairly slowly and includes a lot of information that I don't need. It would be nice to remove those unneeded layers in hopes of performance improvement.

Depending on how customizable the Mapzen basemap is, it would also be really nice to display aspects like street names larger. Perhaps this could be changed dynamically? That would be great.

Yeah. Check out Tangram customization through the scene.yaml file outlined here:

Alternatively, perhaps another basemap provider would work better??

I will explore options such as OpenStreetMap or Stamen.
