Need file normalization, so, to adopt a convention for "\n": Windows or Unix?
As digital preservation is done mainlly by Linux/UNIX servers, the convention to specify line endings as its convention CR.
Algorithm: substitute any occurences of \r\n (CRLF) or "only \r" (CR), by \n (LF).
