Request for help #144

@rufuspollock @jwyg I have really enjoyed assisting with the Data Portals project, but find myself over-committed at the moment. I have every intention to make time to get caught up with existing issues this week, but would love assistance if any are able.

I know it's been frustrating for those who have already made submissions. Thank you for your persistence!

As this project is difficult to maintain, perhaps we should defer to https://opendatainception.io 😱

@todrobbins did you get caught up with existing issues?

I think it is worth getting this working and getting a simple workflow for submissions (maybe pull requests is the way to go ...). I'm willing to do some work to get this one working :smile:

@Stephen-Gates i think having this community-maintained is a better option than deferring to a marketing tool for a specific proprietary provider :wink: - i'd also add that the quality there is pretty mixed (for example, this is listed as data portal in moscow http://geol.msu.ru/ but this is just a Geological faculty of a University near Moscow ...)

@todrobbins want to express again a huge thank-you for all your contributions over the last couple of years -- hugely appreciated and we should get a big acknowledgement on the site -- want to do a last PR 😉?

Thanks @rufuspollock. I'll get back in the saddle this week. Pull requests will probably be a better route at this point after we incorporate the existing open issues.
