Also, do we need to go back further than 2010 in one single table? E.g. if you want to do more historic comparisons and you want the message 'this question was not featured in the survey in 2008'?

Michael, the resident statistician, has sent me the following "Codebook" file which describes the mapping of question numbers from year to year. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-6XVBWIk_RnTE5UbkotcXVTV1E/edit

Combined with the more wordy description document (which seems to overlap) that Lucy has linked, I believe we have everything. It's a lot of data wrangling to make some sense out of all this, though.
