Gladly.
What is the target audience? What is the expected level of data literacy?
Re Cubes – There is new version of cubes being developed, hopefully to be released before christmas – it requires approval, as it is currently partially closed-source/corporate. It will bring many nice features which I would call "open, distributed and pluggable data warehouse" or "Open OLAP". Before that, I can write a brief introduction into OLAP as a concept, if you think that it might be useful (I think that it is).
@Stiivi perhaps we could have a short series here:
Target audience here I think is the intelligent, interested in data analysis / data processing / data management and knowing a bit but non-expert (they may have some hands-on data and/or coding knowledge or it may be just starting).
So, for example, you could start with a brief explanation of the problem that these tools address (classic stuff i know!)
How does that sound?
@Stiivi how does the above sound? We're pretty much happy with whatever you'd like to do here :-)
@rgrp: Sounds good, just writing the first one. With images :-)
We now have 2 awesome posts!
@Stiivi do you want to do another one on ETL and bubbles?
Sure, would love to. I'm a bit busy right now, but I will try within a week or two.
@Stiivi just a ping - don't worry if you have been busy!
@Stiivi just a regular ping - let me know when you'd like to do one on ETL and bubbles :-)
@Stiivi just pinging again - would love to feature one on ETL and bubbles!
I'm in a crisis: started to dislike my current Bubbles interface. Will write about it as of a prototype, just to explain the ETL basics then, to inspire others to come up with something better.
That looks great - only suggestion is that if you have an image or two I think that would be a nice addition! Assume you want this to go live on the 1st (we can announce then).
FIXED :-) - awesome posts @Stiivi
Ask @stiivi if he'd be up for contributing a post on "Data Brewery" and cubes and bubbles in particular.
