Can't use timeliner at all #35

I really would like to use timeliner but it doesn't seem to work right now except for the example spreadsheets. To check whether I do something wrong in creating a spreadsheet for timeliner, I made a copy of the Medieval Philosophers Spreadsheet here but timeliner will say "No data to show!", when I feed the spreadsheet in (see here).

Have you published the spreadhsheet? See instructions on front page which state you need to go to File => Publish to Web in Google Spreadsheets menu.

Yes, I did publish it so that anybody can find and view (but not edit) the spreadsheet. That should do it, shouldn't it? You can take a look at the spreadsheet here. The odd thing is that it is a non-edited copy of this spreadsheet which works just fine in timeliner (see here).

I'm not talking about sharing settings i'm talking about the setting "File => Publish to Web" option. Have you definitely done that :-) When i checked your spreadsheet and looked at the console i saw the familiar 400 error bad request that usually indicates you have not published the spreadsheet in the "publish to web" option ...

That was the problem. After I published it to the web and it works. I just misunderstood the instructions although it says clearly what to do. (I have to say that "Share Public on the web" is all too similar to "Publish on the web"...)

Thanks for the quick help. Now off to feed some more data into timeliner...
