Create Release Version #42

Now that this has been working for quite some time, could you make a release 1.0 or tag the code? I'd like to reference a version that is stable.

@simondiep I think I've misread your request -- creating a tagged release seems like a good idea

@okigan - v1.0 is what I'm proposing. I want all of the latest features available since 2015's release v0.6
