Hi,

First of all great code, works nice!

I'd like to use your lib in closed source App Store application.

Do you provide loosened requirement for iOS platform?

hi mirek-

sure, i'm okay with that. i'm not going to change the license on the project
homepage, but you're certainly welcome to link against the static libs compiled
by this project so you can build your [closed-source] iphone app. if you had
some other form of assurance in mind, just let me know.

it is unfortunate that apple has decided to hamstring development for your
platform with such a seemingly pointless limitation. i wonder if there's a
technical basis for their decision...

cheers

thanks Ray,

your personal assurance as an author is enough. just thinking about other
people who could be looking for this information.

apple enforces static linking to support code signing, with dynamic linking you
could execute any code.

Hey there,

we are using the OSC lib source code directly in our iPad app, i.e. we compile
the source code of the lib and our app together into one app. Is that a "closed
source app" as mentioned above? The iPad app is not public and not distributed
via the App Store, only will be used company internally by a customer of us.

Is there something we need to consider in terms of license? Do we need your
direct permission / approval? Or can we get it so that we are not running in
any legal issues?

I would be thankful for a reply on this matter.

Thx
Arne

hi arne-

"Is that a "closed source app" as mentioned above?"
yes, i believe it is.

"Is there something we need to consider in terms of license?"
no, i don't think so. there's a quick blurb on the homepage about using
VVBasics/VVOSC/etc in closed-source iOS apps.

"Do we need your direct permission / approval?"
i don't think you need it- but if it helps, you have my permission *and*
approval. if you'd like something more formal/in writing, please let me know.

cheers
