Obsidian Backlinks pane supports links in front-matter. E.g. if file F1 has a front-matter field f: "[[F2]]", then the Backlinks pane of F2 will show a link to F1. However, when published to Obsidian Digital Garden's, the site's Backlinks pane does not show such a link.
