Message from Dave Partridge:
I would like to make a suggestion for enhancement.
I'm using PHD2 2.4.1 with a Microsoft Lifecam Studio but suspect this request
applies to any WDM type webcam.
When I connect to the camera I'm offered a slew of different resolutions and
codecs to use (strangely one of the codecs shows as "Unknown" - I think it is
M420). I think I would only ever want to use 1920 x 1080 MJPG as that gives
the full sensor area and can handle up to 30fps (Sharpcap2).
For this reason I'd like PHD2 to remember the last selected resolution/codec
for a specific camera and not require me to select it every time. Naturally
there should be a means to allow a different resolution/codec combination to be
chosen if desired.
Hmmm - is there any benefit in using other than full resolution (e.g. 1280x720
or 960x540 which appear to use some form of sub-sampling or binning) on these
webcams? Some understanding of why I might want to use either M420 or YUY2
codecs would help me too...
