Proot is a handy tool for running Linux programs on your phone. It's true that not every program will work, particularly if your phone isn't rooted, but you'll find that many programs run quite smoothly. So, it's definitely worth giving it a try for those Linux applications you want to use on the go.

It is not about running Linux programs. It is about running GUI Linux programs with mobox wine programs
You should be able to, probably it needs to be modified and wine needs to be opened in windowed mode.
I would like to have the ability to run linux programs too.
I started a x11 program with environment
DISPLAY=:0
. I saw the window without decorations. Then I started openbox with the program. Now I have the program with a title bar and I can use it. However when I clicked wine windows behind this window, the linux program window disappeared and there seems no way to get back to it. I was assuming that mobox is using the wine virtual desktop feature and I could turn off that feature to have a window manager managing wine programs and linux programs. But I was wrong, the option was not checked in winecfg.
