Session File GUI: 'edit data paths' crashes in some environments but not in others #145

Crash happens when running v 1.0.9.19 on pallene (Dual AMD Opteron ™ 
Processor 252 (2592.63-MHz K8-class CPU) with 64-bit support; running Red Hat 
Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 3 – 64 bit)).  

The crash doesn't occur on local machines running Ubuntu 9.10.
