WorkoutSession as standalone items #41

Hi

First of all thank you for putting in the effort to build this app. It looks nice and is easy to use!

One thing I'm missing in the App is the option to create a single workout (referring to the type WorkoutSession) without putting it to a training plan. This would be useful if you want to perform something ad-hoc like a stretching routine or when you have another workout plan for example cycling or running and you do complementary but not very structured workouts besides that plan with this app. It could also simplify the creation of training plans as you could assemble them based on existing workouts.

Are there any plans to implement such a feature in the future?

Best Regards Jonas

Would it help if you have a new workout menu which list all workout items? Then you could start directly a workout but what happened after you finished this one workout?

With workout Item you mean the data type WorkoutSession i.e. multipe Exercises combined? Yes that would help. However I think only if you can create them standalone without the requirement to have a workout plan that contains those sessions.

I'm not sure if I understood your second question correctly. If this app would allow me to create workouts "standalone" and reuse them in training plans, I would create my workouts first e.g. different full body workouts, leg workouts, stretching sessions. Then I would either use them ad-hoc to complement my other trainings (at the moment primarily cycling and running) or create a workout plan by re-using those workouts as building blocks.

With workout item I mean the exercises. Combine exercise are a workout sessions and these are combined into a training plan.

I guess I know understand you. You want define a workout session and then reuse it in other training plan? Like you can do it now for the workout items. I am right?

Exactly, and to be able to use them standalone

I wasn't aware that you can reuse Exercises you added to an training plan earlier.
