Case Tracker Login fails to Fogbugz (including solution) #60

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start case tracker, provide the exact same login URL that other users use
2. Provide working username and password (proven to work in Fogbugz web 
interface)
3. Click Login

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected output: Successful login.
What I see: "Login failed" error message.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Case Tracker 1.4.2.0 on Windows Vista

I've actually found a solution for you (isn't that helpful! :) )

My password had special characters that required URL Encoding. Once I manually 
URL-encoded the hash tags (#) in my password, I was able to connect 
successfully. I would suggest that Case Tracker handle the URL encoding in the 
background, as per:
http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_urlencode.asp

I have this problem but I have no special characters in my password.   It has 
been working perfectly for several months when, last night, I noticed it was 
saying (nothing) instead of the case I was working on.  The dropdown list was 
empty and the filter returned no results.  When I tried switch users it said 
Login Failed and it's been doing that ever since.  The login name and password 
are correct, I can still access Fogbugz without a problem.

I don't know why but this has just started working again.   I guess there was a 
temporary glitch in the FBOD API.

I am also experiencing the same issue. The only special character is '@' in my 
username (which is my company email address).

I found that because my email address was also assigned to the Administrator 
account that the login was failing. Normally i am asked to choose which account 
to log on to when i enter fogbugs via the normal web page. 

Any chance this extra login step could be considered within the tool?
