Scan sampling directly on a full ethogram/ how to analyse mutilple intervals #309

Hi everybody,

I would like to know if it's possible to scan sampled an ethogram which has been fully coded already.

I explain my case: I have plenty videos of 12h, with multiples behaviour recorded for my individuals (See file attached). To gain time in the future, and to see if scan sampling can be representative of my individual's behaviour, I would like to do scan sampling on my datas.

I know that BORIS allow me to analyse by interval my dataset, but is it possible to include mutilple intervals (and not juste one)? Such as 30min/hour [0:0:0>0:30:0 ; 1:00:0>1:30:0 ; 2:0:0>2:30:0 ..... ; 11:00:00>11:30:0] ?

Otherwise, I will need to import my ethogram on Excel and find a formula which can do that, but if it's possible directly on BORIS, that would be great ! tabular event ind 1&2 2019.xlsx

thanks in advance for you help !

Hi Lorène,

it is not possible to define multiple intervals. With Excel take attention to the behavior defined as state events as they can start before your interval.

Best regards
