I found #207 which sounds like the same problem I'm having, but I'm not a Python guru and I got lost. I did try the suggested workaround, running from source (though I expected more make install and less bin/manuskript in a run-from-source scenario), but the same problem persists.
I'm trying to add, eg, æ in the editor view. Normally—even in this window—to do that, I hold down my Compose key (which I've defined as the right ALT key), then type a then e.
In the editor, this gets me e instead of æ. Some experimenting shows that it seems to just give me the last character I type. For example, I can use either Compose-'-o or Compose-o-' to get ó; in the editor view, I'll get o or ', respectively.
