12-27 download does not work on android 1.5 #191

starting csipsimple crashes the application

I was expecting a new version with the speaker phone fix so I tried this one
but I guess it's meant only for the Archos tablet?

Yes
I've just released -12-27 for other users.
However, should have worked on your phone. The only side effect is the fact I
requires higher priviledge to use private apis (and that the phone integration
is different)

I fear that I added something incompatible with android 1.5. If so, -12-27 will
not work for you too.
Let me know.

I'll check that on my side using simulator.

Yes. I just downloaded the 12-27 DEV version and it does not work on my phone
either. Same error. Application requests a forced close on startup everytime. I
have a Telus HTC Hero with Android 1.5. Eventually we should get the 2.1
upgrade but in the meantime I am stuck.

Confirmed, I used an api not yet present in 1.5 (and besides that's done in
dead code) :).
I have to wrap it in order to avoid crashes but for now not important at all.
I'll push a -12-27-bis ;) (and this time tested on the emulator 1.5 to avoid
force close :) )

Thanks for your test!

Done, available on download section.
You're right, something has been tried for your last issue on speaker phone
always on.
Let me know if this version improves things.

There is another experimental feature regarding audio recording intended for
Galaxy S users. Let me know if you observe a worse voice quality with this
version on remote side.
