"Unknown file size 1164620" when patching SWaP. #405

Which patching process showed the unknown filesize error? Trying to run the SWaP patching process. Reports the error of "Unknown file size 1164620 detected".

What is your firmware? Under the "Software update" screen the "Installed SW train version" reports just three dashes "---" (See below image). In the "Versions" screen I can see it has the option of "Update: MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0351T (0351-1)".

Attach the support-dump as .zip file Please see attached ZIP archive.

Already supported in https://github.com/olli991/mib-std2-pq-zr-toolbox/archive/refs/heads/master.zip

Hi lprot,

Thanks for pointing me to the correct version. I've just tried this again using the update function within mib2-toolbox and now receive a different error. I assume I don't need to do a full reinstall of the toolbox?

lprot commented 3 months ago

update of toolbox is enough

callumsnowden commented 3 months ago

Okay, thanks. I've tried that again with a full reboot of the unit between attempts and I'm still receiving the same error with an additional line - "grep: cannot open file '/tmp/sloginfo' (No such file or directory)".

Unsure where to go from here, assuming a full uninstall/reinstall won't help.

A photo and more exact description would definately help.

Here's the exact procedure that I tried:

  1. Overwrote files on SD card using the downloaded zip archive of the repository master
  2. Removed map SD card from SD1 slot, turned ignition on then inserted toolbox SD into SD1
  3. Entered toolbox, clicked the update function
  4. Let the update complete, exited the GEM and then re-entered as per the instructions within the update script
  5. Attempted to patch SWaP with the script and received the error in the photo below
  6. Did a full reboot of the unit for sanity and attempted the patching again which didn't make a difference
  7. Ran the toolbox update function again, restarted the GEM and tried the patch again with no luck

Please let me know exactly what information would be useful in this case, happy to work with you to troubleshoot this!

You did all correct. Please update one more time https://github.com/olli991/mib-std2-pq-zr-toolbox/archive/refs/heads/master.zip Then try to patch and provide the same photo as above and please one more time create and provide support.zip

Just tried again following the same procedure as what I did above with the latest link you provided. Again I'm seeing the same result as per the below photo.

Attached is the support.zip archive as you requested too, when I generated the support bundle the same error of "grep: cannot open file '/tmp/sloginfo' (No such file or directory)" appeared at first.

Somehow the git sync did not work. Please download, update and provide photo + support zip.

Just tried with the latest ZIP archive and the same process again. Unfortunately the latest changes now cause a memory fault which causes the unit to reboot.

This also happens when trying to generate a support bundle so I have not been able to provide you with one this time!

Please download and update. Should be fixed now. Please provide support dump anyway.

callumsnowden commented 3 months ago

@lprot thank you very much for your help in this, all sorted now! One final issue is an unexpected fi in the dump_support.sh script, but this seems to have generated a support bundle anyway (see attached).

You're welcome. Fixed the typo as well.
