LG Air Conditioner Sleep Mode + #569

This is for a: PRODUCT # LP1419IVSM SERIAL # 101HAFM9S667 PURCHASE DATE 2021-04-22

14,000 BTU DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner

The integration is not exposing all features of this unit. What's missing are:

  1. Auto Swing
  2. Timer
  3. Sleep
  4. Schedules

There's a difference between what functions are on the Remote and those found on the ThinQ iPhone App. For instance with the Sleep mode the Remote gives 1 to 12 hours of adjustment and the ThinQ App only 1 to 7 hours. The ThinQ App had the full 12 at one time but with the latest release it dropped to 7.

So anyway, my request is to add any additional controls to the Integration that are available. I would use the Sleep Mode the most as I set that every evening for 8 hours with the Remote and it would be convenient if that could be accomplished with Home Assistant.

The unit also makes a beep when making changes. I'd love to be able to disable that beep.

thanks for the otherwise great integration.

Many good reasons why to include this functionality are in the comments on this issue: https://github.com/ollo69/ha-smartthinq-sensors/issues/182

Hi,

I purchased this same model and there is this limitation of 7H on the sleep function either via the remote control or app LG thinQ.

Would it be possible to increase this timer beyond 7H?

Why is there this 7h limitation?

Is this limitation software or hardware? Does anyone know if there is a way around this?

Regards

Here's my work around. Using the LG ThinQ iPhone App I created 2 Smart Routines; Pre Bed Time and Sleep Time. The Pre Bed Time turns the AC on every day at 7:30pm @68°F target temperature The Sleep Time turns on the sleep timer everyday at 11pm for 7hrs, 68°F target I've been running this all summer and it has worked perfectly. At every bedtime the bedroom cools and shuts off every morning at 6am. I don't have to touch a thing, it runs automatically every day.

Actually, this is even better than if I had a longer than 7 hour sleep timer. The other thing about the sleep timer is the automatic increase in target temperature throughout the period. This might be more useful if I had control over the change in target.

First problem: The air conditioning will work from 7:30PM until 11PM in normal mode, consuming much more energy and generating more noise.

Second problem: I use the Android version and there is no routine to turn on the sleep function automatically. There is only a routine to turn it on and off.

I don't know why LG limited this functionality to just 7 hours. It would be much easier to release 24 hours. I don't know why they did that.
