Maybe it's kind of related to the changes in 1.7.0：
Views now load only when visible, improving startup performance and memory usage. This might cause issues with some plugins. We have published a guide to help developers update their plugins. Renaming files is now faster in large vaults.

There is a slight delay when opening a new tab on v1.7.4. The default new tab screen appears before changing to the home tab. I have tested this in the sandbox vault to make sure that it's not an incompatibility with another plugin. There is less of a delay in the sandbox vault but the same does happen.
