working with the RPi zero? #8

Has anybody got this running on a RPi Zero so you can just use the built-in bluetooth? it would be a simple and super small package - all you would need is the usb cable?

I had the same idea like you @digitalcoleman.. use a short usb cable and hide the RPi Zero behind the S4.. To keep things small and simple I bought a new RPi zero W for this job. It has bulit in WiFi and BT and costs only ~$10... I'm gonna test it next week and share the results here in case you are interested.

I can confirm: the lib. works on the RPi Zero W (with the built in bluetooth)

I had to do this and that differently during the setup but at the end the BLE sensor worked very well with a Wahoo fitness app.

Unfortunately the S4's USB out is not able to power the RPi so I'm gonna get a powerbank or something to get rid of the RPi's power cable and have a completely cordless setup..

This is great news! Any thought on forking this and doing a readme that covers the differing instructions?

The differences are:

To be honest my plan is to create a more simple and stable version from this lib. because I really want to use something like this during my daily rowing sessions..
