Error loading old testament verses #47

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

1.Download and install portuguese version.
2.In the upper bar, choose a passage in the new testament, it will open ok.
3.In the upper bar, choose a passage in the old testament, Genesis, for example.

It must show the verse, but it show this message instead: "Not found in
document".

It happens with And-bible version 0.3.01 (downloaded april 30/2011), I have a
Samsung Galaxy S I9000 that came with Android 2.2 Froyo.

I uninstalled the program and installed it again, same error happening.

Fix it please, because its a great program.

Hi Anthony,

I believe this is because Bíblia Livre only contains the New testament and
Psalms.

"Not found in document" is what is displayed when the passage that you select
is not in the document selected.

Best regards
Martin

Hi Anthony,

After a little more research I have discovered that this module is based on
http://sites.google.com/site/biblialivre/ which is a very active project. It
appears that several books of the OT have been translated since the sword
module was created so I have asked if there are any plans to update the sword
module with the new books.

Regards
Martin

Hi, Martin!

Thanks for the feedback.

You are right, the Biblia Livre (free bible) is an ongoing project and other
bible books are not translated yet.

So, I'm sorry, for creating a defect that is not there in your program.

I'm studying and getting a bachelor's degree in theology, and I teach theology
lessons in my church.

So I'm always using a bible installed in my mobile phone (since 2006 with
s60bible), I was using gobible in my samsung wave, but I sold it and now I'm
using a Samsung galaxy S, it doesnt have j2me support.

So I installed maybe 20 bible apps from android market, and the best ones I
found is And-bible, followed by Cadrebible.

I like to use commentaries, the strong dictionary, compare to original greek
texts, etc... and And-bible support and user interface is better.

I wish your team could create a portuguese module using the standard
version(here in Brazil): João Ferreira de Almeida Revista e Atualizada.

What do you need for this? I can donate for this module creation too, it will
be the most useful app in my mobile.

Think about it please, Martin.

Cheers,
Anthony.

Hi Anthony,

All And Bible modules come from the CrossWire Sword project
(http://www.crosswire.org/sword).

Today, I started a discussion on the sword-devel forum
(http://www.crosswire.org/pipermail/sword-devel/2011-May) regarding the
Portuguese module, which has had several responses. The best way for you to
pursue this would be to join the sword-devel mailing list and post a message
offering advice and assistance. If you would like me to assist I can but it
would be better if you were to post directly.

I develop And Bible but am not directly involved in the module creation process
which requires a different skill set.

Best regards
Martin

I notice CrossWire's version of PorLivre has been updated to the latest one
available and now includes Psalms, Proverbs, Ecc, Song, Isa, and part of
Jeremiah.

Anthony, if you delete your current PorLivre from And Bible and download it
again you will get the new version.

Many thanks.

Hi Anthony,

Is almeida corrigida fiel freely available?

Well... Its available in various sites for reading the bible online, but its
not a public domain version.

I've found a ACF (Almeida corrigida fiel) version for e-sword and other a
version for sword (crosswire).

If you need more info, contact me. :)
