Virtualboxservice not starting in windows 7 #6

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

The Virtualboxservice is unable to auto-start due to logon failure.
Tried manual start of service but "Service could not be started due to log on
failure"

virtualboxservice-v0.1 installed in Windows 7 Pro x64

Please suggest as I suspect Login credentials of FreeNAS server installed over
FreeBSD in Virtualbox have been changed that is leading to the problem.

thanks in advance.

Hi and sorry for the delay.

I can't follow your steps completely. The Service does not need any login
credentials of the Guest OS. However, administrative rights on the host OS
(which only can be some form of Windows) are required. Did you provide the
credentials of an user account, which is member of the "Administrators" group
when installing the service?

Note to myself: Perhaps the GUI should check this requirement, or alternatively
I should find a way, where no administrative access is needed. The latter
probably won't be easy.

thank you for your response.

you are correct. The host OS log-in credentials were changed. As I restored its
Admin log-in credentials the problem got resolved.
