Preview Pane - Projection View and Other Options #37

These mockups deal with the Preview pane in the Main window, but would also be in the Settings pane in the Full Viewer. Apply to: Web, new Web Viewer and Insight main and viewer. Only Web mockups done so far - in the style of the new Web Viewer.

1 - Enabling projections to be created and saved in the Main window - Preview pane and Settings tab of Full Viewer.

Will also enable projections through T - use-cases - useful for accurately placing lines for kymograph and for FLIMfit. Follows the style of projection creation used in Figure - use sliders on the Z and/or T to select range of projection. This is a precursor to enabling projections to be used for thumbnails. First mockup shows single "Projection" toggle button - top right. Second shows a drop-down that would allow different types of projection to be offered (not proposed in first step).

2 - Enabling saving of latest unsaved rendering settings changes to all images in a dataset i.e. leaving all unchanged settings unaffected.

Use case is when you just want to change the colours with the slider, but don't want to over-write Z section or other settings in the other images in the dataset. Quite difficult to encapsulate in a drop-down line (suggestions welcome) so will need good supporting documentation.

Re: "difficult to encapsulate in a drop-down menu..." Phrasing as "Only unsaved settings to all images in dataset" could help for clarity. May also want to include a second 'all' in the first line for consistency, i.e., "All settings to 'all' images in dataset".

Only obvious missing feature is gamma adjustment.

Is it possible to save zoom settings from this viewer and render them in the thumbnail? Otherwise crop functionality from the Figure viewer could be useful to emphasise ROIs.

Looks good to me guys. While it wouldn't be too relevant for us, would the community have use for a minimum intensity projection? It's used in some medical fields etc.
