@gusferguson Is there any need to find images that have ROIs of a particular Folder (browse / search by ROI folder)? Or are we only interested in the ROI folders after finding the image by another means (dataset / tag / search etc)? In the latter case, this would appear to be the same use-case as https://github.com/openmicroscopy/design/issues/2?
@will-moore - as I understand it there is a need to browse/search by ROI folder.
@gusferguson Can you add that under "Need to be able to" in the description? What does browsing by ROI folder look like? In the tree you go ROI folder -> ROI folder -> Image
? Or ROI folder -> ROI folder -> ROI -> Image
or some other hierarchy?
@will-moore - added. I am have mocked up the ROI folder -> ROI folder -> Image in the scoping https://github.com/openmicroscopy/design/issues/3 and my feeling is that provided there is then a good way of visualising the relevant ROIs on the image (maybe using Preview/centre pane - still to work on that) - actually showing the ROIs in the tree would be fairly pointless. Open to counter-argument.
Note: Discussion on naming - Folders vs, Containers vs, something else is on-going. “Containers” is used in this document without prejudice.

ROI container would be used to identify a selection of ROIs that analysis would be specific to a course or exam question set.
