Adding more flexibility to scalebar placement #330

In most cases the left/right, upper/lower corner choices might be sufficient, but there are images that make it hard to see/read the scalebar. It would be nice to have some more options or even the ability to make an arbitrary placement.

Thanks for the suggestion. I can understand the requirement, but I'm afraid this will be a lower-priority feature unless we hear from others that need it. It would add a fair bit more UI complexity for arbitrary placement. I guess not as much work for other options (top-centre, bottom-centre) but would this really solve your issue? We try to keep the app as simple as we can while covering the majority of use-cases. For a final figure customisation you can export as PDF and then move the Scalebar and label independently (e.g. in Adobe Illustrator or other postscript editor). Regards, Will.
