I have a couple of specific questions, also not sure what is possible.
If my location can't be found and I'm on or near the Mall, I'd like to be told to try again. Would that be possible?
Alternatively, I'm more than 10 miles away, I'd rather not be bothered with the browser telling me that it can't find me. Is it possible to get no message at all about my location if I'm more than 10 miles away? Chances are I'd be planning or hunting around on a desktop.
Out of bounds:/Location out of bounds alternatives (if you are less than 10 miles?): Title: Not quite on the Mall Text: You are x miles from the Mall.
Title: Near the Mall Text: You are x miles from the Mall.

No. If your location can't be found, there's no way to know if you're on or near the Mall.

Yes.
I see that you gave two suggestions. Are they two options for the "Out of Bounds" message? What about the "Location Not Found" message?
Yes, those were two options for Out of Bounds.
What do you think about these for Location Not Found?
Title: Location Unknown; Text: Cannot find your location Title: No Location Found; Text: Cannot locate you on map
