The resources directory contains two images, the splash-screen and the desktop-launcher-icon.

Right now it is not documented how resources/openomf_icon.png is generated and what license it has.
resources/openomf.bk is created from resources/openomf.png. However it is not clear how this file was generated. It looks like it is using the (non-free?) font used for the credits and parts of the splash screen

Shipped icons and bk files are part of the "Software" as defined in MIT license, and are therefore distributed under the MIT license.

But how were they generated? Were the original game's resources used?

openomf.png is generated with our own BK writer tool, and image is created in image editor with some unknown font, then converted to our palette.
Icon is made with draw-through method from a scaled down game ending screen, with some color and style changes.
