Not Earning Interest on L1 for OMG tokens #600

Hello, I staked 4000 OMG tokens 6 days ago in L1 to earn interest rewards. It took 2 days before any interest showed up (2.02) then 3 more days before it finally changed to 5.20 earned OMG tokens. This seems very low and slow to me. The interest rates have been increasing and I should have earned many more tokens by now. Today the interest rate went up to 164% and I'm not seeing any change to my earnings. Is something wrong with this feature?

That's a great question. In the bridge pools, fees paid by people using the bridge are distributed to everyone who has provided liquidity, in proportion to their stake. This means that your earnings increase when people use the bridge. If there is no usage, then there are no fees to distribute, and therefore, your earnings will not increase. The APR displayed is the past APR, which reflects the historical usage of a pool. A more extensive documentation is being added to the gateway, and the pools with low balance, which prevents usage, are being rebalanced - this process will be completed on Dec. 8. Pool rebalancing in the L2->L1 direction uses the classic 7 day exit and is therefore a 7 day process.
